Helping You Create Meaningful Change
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
I’m Dena. My clients inspire me daily because they dare to show up and do the hard work of self-reflecting and exploring the messy parts of being a human in this complex world. I work best with folks who are tired of being in pain, and sick of the labels, expectations, and even diagnoses that have been placed on them. I believe you are the author of your own story and you are the expert on your own life. I am here to be a witness to the difficulties you have lived through, help you see them clearly, and gain perspective to empower you to rewrite your story on your terms. I will collaborate with you to help you identify patterns and beliefs that are no longer serving you. I will encourage you to pay attention to your intuition, get curious about your desires and needs, and move toward deeper self-awareness.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York and Florida and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with a Master of Science from Hunter College. I root my clinical work within a humanistic, trauma-informed perspective, and use a psychodynamic approach that incorporates mindfulness, relational theory, attachment theory, and parts work to help uncover unconscious motivations and ingrained patterns of thought and behaviors. I have been practicing and teaching yoga, mindfulness, and meditation for 15 years, and I sometimes bring these into my therapeutic work.
